Culver City is located in the western part of Los Angeles and is surrounded by Mar Vista, West LA, Palms, Westchester, Venice and Playa Vista. It has been a significant center for motion picture and television production, currently acting as the center for Sony Pictures Entertainment. The public is also welcome to get tickets to watch studio tapings of shows such as Jeopardy, and Wheel of Fortune. Culver City’s recent revitalization of its downtown and shopping centers near Fox Hills/Westfield Mall has made it an up and coming hip area that attracts visitors from neighboring areas. There are numerous new stores, restaurants, and bars along Washington Boulevard that are within walking distance from each other. Not too far from this is the Culver City Art District with over 30 contemporary galleries and theatres. The Culver Ice Arena, Ballona Creek bicycle path, and Culver Boulevard Median bicycle path provide the city with outdoor recreation.
